Exhumehelper.dll won't register but VGE will? : LOTROExtreme

Howdy,

I'm trying to get the DLL's to register so I can run LotroExtreme. The VGEHelper one will, but I can't get the Exhumehelper.dll to register via regctrls or regsvr32.

When I use regctrls it just sits there with an hourglass forever.

When I use regsvr32 it just goes back to the command prompt immediately, but if I look in Task Manager I will see the regsvr32 process going.

I've scowered the forums, installed the MS Debugger thingy, and made sure I have my .NET installations are all up to date... I have even tried redownloading the DLL via the udpater. Still with no effect.

However, I can register the VGE.dll every time.... Anyone have any ideas?

Just to update. This is being done on XP. I also tried Safe Mode but it has the same behavior.

Did run exhume.exe? If not, download it to the same folder andrun it. You could be missing the script debugger. or something like that.

Smot13 is my RL brother.. I have been helping him with this.

Running the Exhume.exe and also redownloading the DLL's via the updater hasn't worked. I'm guessing there is something screwy with his OS. He was planning to go to Vista anyway and I have it working there.

But any other ideas are appreciated

If he cant run Exhume, then something is definatly wrong with the OS or it is missing some core DLL's. This can easily happen if you install and then uninstall programs as they sometimes delete system dll's.

just did a fresh install of xp and exhumehelper still isnt registering for me

i intalled vista and its working fine for now
