Short for robot, a computer program that runs automatically.

Ie playing the game for you.

You can have one if you get premium access and then get someone to update xunleashed for GW. Or learn to program and read/write to memory addresses.

Tault_libertygone Why are you so very unhelpful about bots? Are you the admin? As a paying customer you shouldn’t do that. Its not very mature of you. Every one that’s asks about bots you close the thread or throw leet talk at them.. This is a complaint.

But. Bots are traditionally made by running a script through a Scriptable macro program and usually are done in VB script which XU supports. The VB necessary to program a bot in GW is relatively low. I have done it but for Strictly XP purposes but you only need a Keyboard macro recorder and record your skills and targeting GW auto follows your target. Picking up loot would require more advanced programming skills such as pixels comparison when your mouse is over loot but other than that for just XP GW is not very hard to script at all.

youngyodajr, I appreciate your concern in this matter, but I do moderate the Guild Wars forums, and I will lock a thread if I find it is heading in a direction that is completely tangent to what this board is for. The threads you are probably thinking about (of which there are very few) were requests from non-premium members for bots. Obviously, should we help the guy that just wants to leech and not pay for the site or submit information? My answer is no.

I am not unhelpful about bots. In fact, if you could do a search on the boards, you would see that I am trying to do everything I can to get XU fully functional for Guild Wars. What you are suggesting is not what I would call a "bot." What you are suggesting is nothing more than a simple keyboard macro repeated over an amount of time. The only bots that are in the premium section for the time being are ones that are written in more complex scripting languages, such as Ruby, because XU is not fully functional for GW yet. Yes, I could take the time to write a completely new interface to modify memory locations for GW and sniff packets and send packets, etc, but I don't want to start from scratch when there is already something built for this. All XU is missing for GW is the service that does these things.

A bot has the ability to make decisions based on criteria. A "bot" can choose the path of least resistance by looking for monsters and their location. Can your EZMacro programs do that? They cannot, and that is why I do not consider them "bots." If you have a bot now, why not share it with the community? I have scripted macros and bots for over a year for Ultima Online using EasyUO (snicker7 on the EasyUO boards, if you ever visit them), so I know what I'm talking about. So before you accuse me of being unhelpful... maybe you should read some of my other posts. Especially seeing as you only have 2 posts yourself.

XU / tault or Tault/XU. Where is the XU content? Has it been discontinued? The XU Dev’s were talking about creating a plugin for GW and this merger happened and XU has seem to have fallen into disrepair. Quite frankly Tault has junk info and I Want to use XU. If I had to chouse between XU and tault I would chouse XU and as a matter of fact I have paid over $100 for the use of XU in the past. And I will continue to pay for XU. But if development has been halted I will discontinue my use.. I need one of the admins give me a definitive answer please.

EDIT:Well if your level of boting is higher than another then that’s fine but a simple macro can be considered a bot as any form of automated play is considered a bot to a laymen.

Yeah hey. You know that people may have other things in their life to do? The admins have been working on getting everything running smoothly since the merger. I think you should not be so damn impatient. XU had no GW content at the time of the merger, and Tault actually brought some. So why don't you stop complaining?

That’s totally unhelpful. Please do not post stuff like “So why don't you stop complaining?“ I am a paying customer I have the right to ask if my game will be supported and if there are plans to further develop support for the game. I want to know if content will be available for GW and if it will be supported and if plug-in’s are going to be available. Your telling me to wait but there was talk of plugin’s months ago. I want to pick up on the progress of that development.

Edit: 2 posts? Look what is with your tone? i have 5 premium accounts.. please do not address me that way. I pay for this and am simply looking for some information.

The comparison you are making is not a fair one. Tault and XU had some similar information on their sites, but they were not heading toward the same goal. XU is primarily a scripting oriented site, where as Tault focused more on game exploits. That's why the merger was done. Not so you could complain about which half of the site was better. If you are not satisfied with how XU is working with Guild Wars, post somewhere that someone can see it.

And as far as you having 5 premium accounts... how the hell do you expect someone else to know that? All I see is your name and a post count.

In closing, go ask for support in the XU forum, not on the Guild Wars forum. I'm locking this thread, because it is heading no where.

Here i can fix this post real fast. We have a shedule of things we do in order youngyodajr. We first fix the games that are broken from patches thats an xun thing. As for looks and tech and other php / html coding i can take care of that or get some other people to do that. Xun people take care of xun problems.

Right now they are releasing a good soma patch and an eq2 fix. Then working on getting GW and Knight online working for customers. We have a GW bot in the section nothing amamzing but it works. GW service shouldnt take to long to get working im assuming but it will take some time. Its something we know you guys all want working and we want to get it out. However the problem is it takes time.

So in conclusion thats where the situation is at. If you have more questions feel free to msg me. Also liverty is not an admin he is a mod of gw. Which means he helps you out to the best of his abilities. Takes care of locked posts. And does a bunch of other things such as move topics tell us who deserves premium ect ect ect. Trust me its a demanding job because the 2 other mods are out right now since one is getting back surgery and the other went on a 2 week vacation.
