You can get to the wreckage from Augury rock. Just head southeast past all the hydras till you reach the warp point. Once you're in the Arid Sea, head south till you find the wreckage. (hold alt) The wreckage gives anywhere from around 76 gold to 200+ gold. Just keep re-zoning back into Skyward Reach and into the Arid Sea again. Here's a map. Chest spawns in a random area. Thought of submitting this one a few weeks ago, but its too much of a problem, can take up to two minutes one way just to get to the chest sometimes, and you have to deal with dryders (or rock scarabs, something equally annoying).
