Post subject:  How to make your Guild a success

So why is your guild on the 20th page on the ladder? Not on the 4th page? Well this guide is for you if you're asking your self that question. There's a lot of reasons why you're simply not doing so hot in GVG or PVP, And I'm hoping to address all of the major reasons in this post to help you and your guild out on the field. First of all any guild needs to learn teamwork, and their own unique place in the guild.

The most important person in the team, and the first I'm going to talk about is the healer. Your sole job is to heal, you don't get to call targets or kill anyone but you are the backbone of any team. The typical high ranked guild has about three monks (healers) unless your Guild is doing a special build. If you have any enchantments that are constant you're probably going to want to cast them on other Monks because they're normally the first ones to be attacked. The enemy knows that without healers you're done for and they're going to use that to their advantage as much as they can. Healers are equally needed in GVG and in the Tombs.

Secondly, the most important strategy for any team is focus firing. Most people simply do not understand the importance of this, and it tends to be why most guilds and tomb groups lose horribly. Everyone simply must attack the same person. Some people just do not understand how important it is, and they simply drag any team down. This strategy alone is more important than any damage dealing build you slaved hours away at in a build calculator. If you think going off and attacking someone on your own is a good idea it simply isn't. The only time this is condonable is if the person has around 10% of their health left, or if someone is attacking your priest in tombs.

So now I'm sure you're asking yourself, Who do I attack, hmm? Well the answer is simple and it works like this. Whoever can help the other team mates the most, you want to kill. First off you attack the healers first. Most healers go monk primary but that's not always the case. The reason for attacking the healers first is because if you attack a Warrior he's simply going to being invincible with all of the healing being cast on him. Try to focus on a Monk before you even get to the enemy using the [] keys, And then press CTRL + Space to target him. Only one person in the guild does this, and this person must be an offensive character. They're usually called a "targeter". The rest of the members in the guild must now press T to target that same person, and then use any attack spells/skills you have on this person. It also helps to bring in spells that reduce healing or steal energy so that this Monk cannot heal him or her self very well. The next person you want to attack is the Monk secondary, any x/Monk can resurrect the healers or any other player so it's a must that you take this person out as fast as possible. After you've done this it's smooth sailing, Take out the casters next because they tend to have very low armor and then attack the Warriors and Rangers.

And then there's the least important part of winning, which is the actual build its self. Make sure you have a good healing build, and a good attacking build. As a personal preference I tend to stay away from elemental primary builds because they have such low armor. Also keep in mind that the actual damage listed on your build is often much much lower against classes with high armor and such. While Water Trident may look good on paper it only does about 20 against a Warrior. The key is to think outside the box but inside the realm of reality. A lot of the time people fixate builds on some concept that the enemy is just going to be standing there the entire time not doing a single thing except admiring how powerful your skills are. This really isn't the case despite it being a popular belief. Physical attacks and ones that do damage after armor tend to do well, as well as lightning for Elementalists.

And last there's morale. Morale does help you, but don't be too concerned with gaining a morale boost. Though it does help if you have a negative one. Maintaining the flag post when you're all -20 can be key. If you have a death penalty and think you've lost it simply because the other team has a percent advantage you're wrong. I've been in guild matches that have totally turned around after being whooped in the beginning.

But there's more to morale than in game, be sure to make your entire guild and team happy. Don't insult other players or disrespect anyone. When you have something to critique make sure you use constructive criticism. But if someone just flat out won't listen to you in your guild, there's still a place for them. It’s on the PVE side of your guild Razz. If two or three people in your guild are complaining about a skill or the way you're doing something simply explain yourself as thoroughly and logically as you can. Explain the reason you're doing this, and if they still disagree it's probably best that you listen to them. As well make sure your guild isn't disrespecting you. I played in 5 GVG games this beta and lost only one match, because that one game was the only game where I had a build forced on me.

this is already flawed. Most teams have 3 monks, 2 healers and 1 protection monk as protection monk is incredibly important in most cases. I have also played in builds with 2 builds, won't reveal the details though.

Focus firing is also important, but most good teams these days will focus on 2 targets, e.g. shutting down 2 monks at the one time etc etc[/quote]

By the way any successful guild doesn't have three Healers, they have 3 monks, 2 Healers, 1 Protection. Im sry but if I met you ingame I would classify you as a noob on the grounds that you think all monks heal or help their teamates. Ever heard of a smiter? Also I play protection monk, and I hate it when people think i'm supposed to be healing.
