How this works is Protection Bond. Protection Bond keeps all damage down to 5% of your max health at one time. So, put on 5 sup. runes and a negative health off hand to get your health as low as possible. The normal health is 105, but the better equipment allows for less. The least I have heard is 55 health. 5% of 55 is only 2 dmg per hit. You can heal your self with other protection enchantments way faster then you can take dmg at a rate of 2 per-hit, even with no direct healing spells. The draw back is that each time you take a hit with Protection Bond you lose between 6-3 energy and if your energy ever hits 0, the bond is broken. Which leads me to why you have to be a primary monk to do this. If you use 12+1(monk only head piece)+3(monk only rune)+1(20% off hand) you can get protection prayers up to 17. With 17, you only lose 1 energy perhit at 17, which is a managable amount. Coupled with Bonnetti's Defense or Ether Renewal, you can maintain the protection bond forever, and survive forever.

I agree, and disagree. I am sick of this build.

However, I use it with my monk when I am soloing the griffons and minotaurs south of augary rock, the cave trolls outside droknar's or the tengu outside riverside (or the aatxes in the UW).

When I am done soloing, I bump my healing back up from 9 to 12 put my protection from 12 down to 0 and put my smiting and divine back up to 12 and 8. (This is all with runes) It really isn't that hard to juggle between solo and group builds. Anyone who uses this build in a group is retarded.
