Post subject:  Get good weapons fast!!
Now that the new update is done with, you need a key to open chests.. the chests always have max damage(or near) gold or purple items. In the desert starting from Destinyes Gorge, Head south toawrds this portal (a little south of the ascension moutain) that separates The Scarr from Skyward Reach.. so before you go out.. buy a few keys, then towards that portal (in the Skyward Reach part) theres always an elonian chest.. so get the weapon inside it and go in and out the portal again.. (im sure the weapon you get will be worth more or ALOT more than the keys cost)

This has Benifited me alot and i hope it benifits you guys aswell!

seeing as everyone can do this as long as they have a little bit of money, the economy for weapons is going to drop significantly.

unless you get a super godly weapon or weapon upgrade, dont count on it being worth much more than what you can sell it for at the merchant (which is always less than what the key is worth).

Yea, the updaye pretty much killed the market for selling items from the chest because everyone will get them. If you wait until you get to droknars or port sledge, the keys cost more (600gp) so the item is going to be better than the desert items. As stated before the items are not going to sell very well since everyone can get them unless they are godly.

the point of the keys was to level the economy out by allowing everyone to find better drops more often deflating the costs of items. I have weapons/shields now that give +40 +44 and +41 health mods, they can't be salvaged though

personally i think that the only key that really make you money, it's obsidian key ( 1.500 gp )

I tried 5-6 keys on FOW chest, and always got nice gold items, that payed back keys and pay you a nice amount of money

NAY - 9 out of 10 items from any chest isn't worth 1/3 the price of the key, especially when you just get crappy rune armor.

the only places i carry a couple of keys for are southern shiverpeaks, FOW, UW and fire islands. over time i have more than paid for my keys mostly in part to getting gold 40's containing superior monk runes. even got a superior absortion once. *GEM*. One thing that i do that others may not is i always let someone else open the chest first. from what i can tell if it drops a purple it drops purples for all or if it ia gold it drops gold for all. i pass on purples for obvious reasons. just my 2ยข
