If someone is selling an expensive item, PM them and say: "How much?"
When they give u the cost such as 55k for example, respond: "Ok, I guess I can pay 55, where should I meet you?" Meet up with them and instead of putting in 55 plat just put in 55 gold. This isn't sure fire, but I've usually experienced something like 10%-20% success rate, which is quite profitable. Many players are often anxious to sell once theyve found a buyer and will see the 55 and not come to realize you're trading 55 gold and not plat, until after the transaction. Enjoy!

(Note: In no way is this against any rules. If the seller is impatient enough to be so quick to sell, than you should be quick to take advantage of the situation.)

/Nay

Having the 55k show up as 55g is quite obvious, the better way to do it (but not so profitable) is to offer, say, 1.5k and then only put in 1plat and 5 gold (netting you a 495 profit).

However this is all still scamming if it's done intentionally and will annoy the other player which I don't agree with.

/Nay just because I hate scammers..it's not good for the game.

you can get reported for this....if you complete the trade it's more difficult for them to prove you were scamming but if they catch it you will likely get reported.

reports add up even if they are for small incidents like this.

you are essentially stealing something that is not your's...in this case...whatever is being traded...

scammers are the skid marks on the underpants of the guild wars community...
