Hello, I'm new here, free account(also quite new to star trek online). I'm sure the title is confusing, but I'll explain.
So, I'm sure everyone knows the Lore mission from starfleet academy. Pick up history quest, answer a multiple choice quiz get 480 dilithium, cooldown 20 hrs. All fine and dandy. I started playing just before delta rising came out. So back then it was 200% xp gain. What I would do is this:
1. start new char
2. skip tutorial
3. finish those starting quests (talk to commander, get equipment from locker)
4. bam! lvl 5
5. at lvl 5 you can get the lore quest => 480 free dilithium
6. transfer dilithium to main character through dilithium exchange (post 480 dilithium to buy zen at 25 dilithium per zen, no one will touch your offer, and you can cancel it later from your main and withdraw the dilithium)
7. delete char and start again at 1.
Very nice trick. BUT only works when there is a double xp event. the lore quest is lvl 4+.
I actually built a bot for this,almost, but before it was finished delta rising came out and the double XP was removed so at step 4 you get lvl 2 not 5, so that means you can't pick up the lore quiz quest.
But might be a useful trick for 480 dil/5 min work at a double xp event.
bot details: My bot was written in java (eclipse ide) with sikuli library for GUI recognition. I taught him to create characters, delete characters, skip tutorial, move around badly (using /NavToPosition but I didn't want to use this bcs it looks very botty:P), transfer dilithium , and EVEN ANSWER the question on the quiz (about 80% accurate). If I only moved faster I could have used it to get dili-rich.
My apologies if this trick has already been posted before. I posted it in the hopes that I'll get access to the rest of the forum and maybe find a way to build a bot to farm dilithium. I hate the grind in this game and I've already spent way to much money on it.
