I am not saying "what can I get" with TUBucks. I'm curious, when I receive TUBucks, is it corresponding to the quality of my post, or just the fact that I replied?

I think this is a dangerous idea because people are just make "Lol" "that's nice" posts, and get the same credit as making a post people find helpful.

Karma is a system based on only giving a certain post credit if it is helpful - an encourages people to help each other.

Allakhazam has proven how utterly useless karma is.

If you think Karma is a plot for disaster, so it making a community a "posting contest".

True, but what makes slashdot such a great site is it's karma/moderation. Although it has it's kinks, most of the visitors that go to slashdot go there because it's able to seperate replies/comments through the following categories:

Positive:
Informative
Insightful
Interesting
Funny

Negative:
Troll
Redundant
oh, and my favorite: Flamebait
