Is the Lu Shang rod still worth to get? What sort of advantages is it now that its breakable by even easier fishes, or can it break?

From what I've gathered from fishing forums:
Lu Shang's Rod = Legendary Fish catcher

There have been reports of people riding the boat and pulling up 3-5 or more legendaries in one trip. Against other fish it is still a good rod but not the preferred rod. Wooden seems to be the way to go now but if you use a wooden rod, make sure you get the stamina bar to grey out (watch carefully as it can grey out with low level fish at half stamina) before you reel it in. Otherwise, you are risking losing your bait/lure/rod.

I haven't read any reports that regular fish can break the Lu yet. If I find something on it today I will post it up.

Yeah the LuShang Rox ... ive had one for a while now and you save a lot of money on bait because you can use lure's more often and with the new stamina system as long as you press enter when there is no stamina you wont loose the lure, all in all you make more money when you dont pay for bait

Lu = Best Rod.

Pre Patch it also seemed to increase bite rate vs other rods. I'd kind of assume that's still true. No Fish is to small for rod errors. = More fish being reeled in. Pre Patch me vs Friend with Composite I'd average ~20k/hour vs ~14k/hour fishing same fish. I convinced him quite quickly to get his own. Took about 3 trips.

I can't see how Lu wouldn't be considered Wooden since it's Woodworking to repair it.
