I searched the forums to see if anyone mentioned it but I didn't see it so here goes.

This was copied(retyped) directly from "Information" and then "General".

On February 14, over 800 accounts which repeatadly violated the PlayOnline Member Agreement were permanently banned from PlayOnline.

The users of these accounts would form groups to monopolize the hunting spots of notorios monsters (NM). They also repeatedly performed harassment and MPK actions against other players.

Grief tactics, including harassment, are listed in the PlayOnine Member Agreement as violation and are not allowed for any reason. Also, interfering other players' game play in order to monopolize monsters which spawn in hunting spots is not allowed.

Based on the above, we have taken strict actions against players who have violated the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

If you become a viction of harrasment, please make a GM Call and report the issue directly to a Game Master.

Your understanding and cooperation will help us provide the best experience possible to our players.

It seems that SE is doing something to resolve that issue with gil sellers pulling this crap.

Ancient news, on my servers most of the really bad NM campers were still there the day after. Halfhearted effort if anything.

I know, but was news to me. I didn't see it listed here anywhere, so I thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Still dude 800 is a lot, and at least they are doing something. I'm sure that's not the last time they'll do it.

I don't know, there's over 10 servers. Each server has probably 3000 on at any time, 50,000+ subscribers, so we're talking probably 1/1000, and they probably prioritized infractions which users may sue over (like personal threats and the like).

800 is crap! There are 32 servers with approximately 3000 people on each at any given time giving us approx. 96,000 people online at any given time. Of that 96k lets say that 2% (I think it's more like 5% personally) of all players are Gil sellers giving us, 1920 gil sellers, not including their other accounts or mules.

So out of roughly 2000 accounts 800 people got banned, seems like an impressive amount of bannings but most of these gil sellers make a living off of doing this and have up to 10+ accounts at a time on various servers and as soon as one account gets banned they come right back and buy a new one. So while 800 looks like an impressive number all it does in the end is slow them down a bit because maybe they lose 2 or 3 accounts in a mass banning like this... Then they buy 3 new accounts and PL their chars with the remaining 8 accounts and go right back to work.

Just my 2 gil, flame if you like.

Well considering nothing is to stop them, banning roughly half the accounts is a huge investment lost for them. Hehe, just knowing some of them got screwed is enough to make me

only way i think that could possibly harm the gil sellers is to hit them where it would hurt.. their "bank" ! i'm sure if you where to purchase gil from a company you would recieve gil from one of their accounts which is their "Bank" account that they sent all the gil too.. get that account banned and they would have nothing.. if they could somehow shut that down they would have nothing to sell.. of the only way to figure out the sytem would be to purchase gil (which i would never condone). so you see they really have the perfect setup and there is no way to stop them even if GM's wanted to...

They can do anything they want. They can track any and all money in game. So you are fooling yourself if you think they don't know who the gil sellers are. They are just too afraid to ban them for 2 reasons or a combination of the 2 reasons. 1) they don't want to loose money from monthly subscriptions, and 2 and most likely the real reason 2) they are afraid of having a law suit coming down on them
