I have seen on a website that with some items you need two skills to craft it. Is this true?

yup. quite a lot of items require 2 skills.

dang, that bites. Any shortcuts or easier way of crafting? Or just craft, and craft, and craft.

For instance, when I get the appropriate lvl to craft the Xiphos, I need to have some skill in Bonecrafting? Why can't I just buy the femur bone? Just curious before i start another craft.

Here is a easy craft wind crystal and a yugudo necalce sell it at ah for 150 each at windurst(that how much i get for it) and it will give you 3 spools of grass thread =)

Yes, some skills require more than one craft. Smihing branches out a lot. Because sometimes it requires Bonecraft, Leathercraft, Goldsmith, etc. The only two guilds that do NOT branch out are Cookin and Fishing.
