Hey i have a question about this auto PL bot...can GMs detect it? or do they whisper it to see if anyone is there at the computer. If they whisper to it can u tell the bot what to whisper back? or can the GM just detect that there is an auto PL bot in the area. I was also thinking if someone had to report the auto PL bot for the GM to come and try to detect it or whisper to it. Please answer my question.

GM's can't read anything on your computer because its not in the EULA. (Note: Talk to Kourath for more info on this, he knows more about it that I do)
But according to the EULA, they can't ready anything on your computer, so you're safe by that... And the thing about the tells, you'd have to talk to the creator of the program... BUT, they all said themselves that these bots weren't meant for AFK healing...

SE cannot collect any information legally, since, as stated, it is not in the EULA (end user license agreement
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eula ) The program itself is undetectable for that reason, and since it behaves very much like a human, SE cannot detect it server side. The only thing you have to worry about is a tell from a GM, but you can get a tell alarm, or I think there is even a bot that uses an open source chat bot to respond to tells, but I'm not sure where I saw it.
On a side note: There has been some controversy about SE being able to read information on your computer. Process guard has shown that pol.exe is reading other processes (using readprocessmemory in the kernel32.dll), this however in itself means nothing at all. Any claims that SE is reading information on your computer (similar to what warden does) is purely speculation.

Ok so they cannot detect it but if i get a tell from a GM i'm pretty much screwed? I mean there is a /tell filter isnt there? Because most of the fishing bots when someone reports them the GM cannot say that the bots arent behind the computer because they might have chat filter on. I'm saying this so i dont get my account banned and have to go buy another one. But if the bot cannot be detected by a GM then its pretty much safe as long as it doesnt do anything crazy. I also have another question...does the bot have a regular name and stuff like if it was like Hfjdskafh then the GM would suspect sumthing but like a name that sumone would actually have.

If your not there to answer, yes.

I've never heard of that one, but its a possibility.

Thats irrelevant, as stated before, SE/GMs cannot see what is running on your computer (meaning that they cannot see the titles of the windows).

I meant like the Bot character's name like would it be a legit name so that GMs wouldnt suspect sumthing? And if you are at your computer you can tell the Auto PL Bot to reply to a /tell?

I dont think the name of a character would affect the chance of getting banned.
And if you are at your computer you can tell the Auto PL Bot to reply to a /tell?
no, if you are at the pc and a gm /tells you, you can respond to him/her. The auto pl bot does not auto reply to tells.

When you use the bot it is automating your character in the game. The only name seen by anyone in the game, is the name of the character you are using. The bot shows a name in the process list on your computer. But as kourath has said many times, it would be illegal for SE to check your process list.

So the bot doesnt create a character to PL you? It uses your character to PL yourself like if you have windower? I thought it like created a Red Mage or sumthing that would come to you and PL you.

No, it PL's with a character you already have. If you could make a character out of thin air instantaneously be a RDM or something, the game would be ruined, and SE would be labeled as gaming failures... Look at Diablo 2, check out the Hero Editor. That program and others like it helped kill that game. And even if something like that existed for FFXI, I'm sure 99% of the cheat sides would do their best to keep it quiet to keep the game alive... If something like that got out, it'd be all over for FFXI.
