Just yesterday I was chilling in my mog house talking to the people on my linkshell when a member posts:

If <insert> sends you a tell don't insert the link into your browser and download the item. If you do it's a trojan and you're retarted.

Then the next thing I hear from another member is:

At least 8 people just got a tell with the link. xD

Not sure how many people got the tell or if the person got banned, but it surely cheered me up for the day.

Thanks for the warning.

If you get a random tell from someone you don't know, and it tells you to go to a link, don't go to it. It's just like RL - don't talk to strangers.

But if you don't talk to strangers, you won't make friends. Ah, what the hell, it's situational. I doubt you should talk to someone on the street just 'cause lol.

No, I'd say getting (and responding to) random tells is like talking to strangers in a safe environment, which is a necessary part of life. Opening their links is like accepting sweets they give you, which we've all been warned against countless times.

Pretty sure at least three people on my server opened the link, which is totally awesome because they probably realized what they did and contacted SE asap.
