We have confirmed an issue wherein it was possible for players to acquire gil freely from within FINAL FANTASY XI. This issue has already been addressed by our technical staff.
Players found to be exploiting this method will be dealt an appropriate punishment, which may include PlayOnline account cancellation. Though you may be curious, please remember that exploiting flaws in the game is not something we can tolerate.
We develop our software carefully so that such issues do not occur. However, should you come across an aspect of the game that may be not working as intended, please contact a Gamemaster or use the appropriate mail form to notify us.
It would help us tremendously if you can describe the situation and the steps you took in discovering any such flaws. However, it is not necessary to report the names of any players you suspect to be abusing any of the above mentioned issues for their benefit.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
wtf? anyone have any idea what this is about posted on the playonline website? I figured if anyone knew it would be the ppl here

Maybe that was about the caps. they never really said they considered it an exploit. but there were so many they couldn’t just ignore it.

No the exploit that they are talking about is probably the while lagging, disconnect your internet cable, keep hitting enter while taking an item out of your delivery box exploit.
I've heard it's really tough to do and I've also heard you will get banned right quick too.

I heard the issue was with CoP expansion!
there was a NPC you could buy Baron Cuisses for 402k
and sell back to the same NPC for 404k.
You could do that endless times so a lot of gil was made this way by the Japanese (which got access to expansio before us).

You are right it is.... all you needed to do was send whatever amount of gil to yourself. This amount is the increment you will recieve your duplicated gil in so send the most to yourself that you possibly can. Next, you can use various programs to throttle your bandwidth so that you get high ping (4000-5000) i've found as most effective. Then just go to your mog, open the delivery box and as teh gil is loading in your box pull cord out of the modem and rapidly click ENTER on the gil amount. then just plug the cord back into your modem and continue pressing enter... bam you got duplicate gil

1) From what I have heard this was fixed.
2) I would not suggest even thinking about trying this, because they seems to be taking the punishments MUCH more serious than botting.
