Contract? Do you mean that they are going to get rid of the game? Please help me to understand. I still like the game a little.

Will the game be playable or will it be gone forever?

I doubt it will be like that. Im going to assume that song cant use any new swg things. Such as using darth maul or something along those lines. But the game will stay in there. If they are doing advertisements on TV then i doubt they are going to get rid of it.

Well all the advertising is because since publish 10, they have been losing accounts. More recently with the Noobie Friendly NGE, they lost 65,000 vetran accounts from that last number I heard. The advertising is being done to try and raise numbers again with new players, because sony is in a big hole right now that is why LA may not extend the contract with SOE, instead from what my sources tell me talks are going on with Blizzard, but nothing to really trust yet.

To summarize, if in February SOE doesn't have enough people bringing in money for the Star Wars royalty for SWG, it will be done most likely.

Well if it was so horrible ims ure they could do a server restore and bring it back to a time when people enjoyed it more. The problem most people companies have that kill them is they dont read what people want. Its so easy to create a game and read what thepeople want and make something based on that. AC2 is a great example of something with potential that is dead now.

Keep in mind as well i doubt blizzard would do a swg game. Blizz wouldnt want to pay royalties on something when they already have the ability to make a starcraft mmorpg to rival swg.

Also i would say swg will find a way to work out of thier rut its not very expensive to make a mmorpg profitable.

Read the swg vault forums about how their is rumor of a massive revamp.

Yeah, I used to have this game (I loved making cities and houses) but fighting was so boring it had nothing to do with skill. I switched to WoW which I like much more then SWG. I tried playing it like 2 months after I left it and they screwed it up even worse then when I left.
