Anyway, had one of my toons make a 55 point pet for my jedi, mostly block and stuff like that to tank for him was the original thought.. like the old days...
It was not untill i was training my then lvl 10 pet by killing rebels on one of the BG POI's that i realised just what the effect of a SINGLE talent point is in Beast Master...
(I was ganked by i think 5 or 6 lvl 85-90 combat guys, supported by a medic, and i did not just live through it.. i WASTED them!!!)

But what is really making a diffrence is that the bigger my rat get's, the more of his "bonus" stats rubb off on me..
Was like considering to do a afk macro on San'sii (kursk for those who dont know) since he was like not hitting me mutch, and when he did it was pathetic.. so i looked at my defence stats... all over 55%, closing on 60%..
Dropped back down to around 28% when i stowed my pet away..
So guys, seriously
1 talent point in Beast Master is SERIOUSLY worth it

Can you buy combat pets or do you have to go full BM to make them and then drop down to 1 point?

You can buy them, doubt it has to be a really good one to se the effects, but im pretty happy with my 55 pointer

I hear Medic/BM is godly. Been thinking about trying that out.

Hid my pet about 100 yards from Restus central, and now ive wasted more people then i care to count...
Even took out "the hand" solo.. took awhile thou due to lowered (25%) damage..

The important stats on the pet seem to be intelligence, and cunning when dealing with how mutch bonus you as a player gain from the "creature bonus"
Made another one with lower score but dumped most into those stats... and even if its defence stats was lower, i seemed to get more of them myself when i had it out..

There probably a whole lot of info on the BM forum, but as i said, its often overlooked by all but the most bored players

Bump for yays and nays still.

you get about 4-5% on each stat max at BFF on your pet when its 90. Therefore i dont call this a sploit or guide its been well known that defensive pets work well for tank type jedi for a long time. I have had my 60 point near perfect rancor (full def spec) for 7months now
