Yea i searched around a decent amount looking for any private servers. This seemed to be the only one i could currently find that has a somewhat updated status on the servers.

atm the only unrestricted EMU servers are Nova and Liberator, both run by the SWG EMU team. The code is not V1.0 - so they did not release the unrestricted server code. The code you can download and compile yourself from the SVN is restricted by run time (60 minutes, iirc) and amount of people who can connect at the same time (iirc 20 connects).

The website you've found looks nice, but from what I can see they don't run a public and unrestricted server atm.

I didn't check it out yet, obelix, but I found a download link for their launchpad enhanced on the site and a forums link (Register to unlock hidden link) and they said you should login with the forum credentials. There's a signup button at the bottom and I had to press it twice before I could actually register.

Didn't try beyond that.

Also if the SWGEMU code is available, I don't see why you can't just remove those restrictions

there is one little part of the code that is not open source atm - and that part handles the server restrictions. From what I read, it was coded by the EMU team themselve and was not reverse engineered from SOE code (or however they did it). That part that handles the restrictions will be open source too, but they will publish that with the release of V1.0 of the server code.

the LPE is used for the "official" EMU servers too. It does some settings for you in the config files, patches and fires up the client.

As long as there is only one Server available, I use it only one time to set up the EMU itself and the swgemu_login.cfg (which holds the server information to connect to). After all is set up once, you only need to fire up the swgemu.exe in the game installation directory.

As for the website itself: I'll check it out - but I doubt to see anything else then the Nova and Liberator Server from the EMU team.

Is SWGEMU STILL not done?

Do you still need the actual SWG discs to play EMU, or have anyone found a way to bypass that?
