Not sure if this is known, I asked a few people ingame last night and none new about it.
This macro will keep you from going afk...
make a macro, call it afk
/getvet;
/pause 300;
/m afk;
You'll get an announcement of your total days playing every 300 secs, but it keeps you "atk" forever (at least til the server resets).

I know a lot of people are using AutoIT so going afk doesn't matter to them, btw... Just a little nugget I've been using for awhile.

do you know if this helps preventing forced logout on trial accounts too?

I just turn off the "AutoAFK" function in the options menu. Then I just use whatever combat macro I have and I never log out. But this works too, I guess.

i have no idea about the trial accounts, but, even if you have the autoafk checked, don't you still go offline after like 20 minutes? at least i think you do...

If autoafk is off, you can still go offline. You need some way to keep you from going offline. The /getvet trick can work. I tend to do a simple /mood macro where it changes my mood.. Like..
Moods
/mood happy
/pause 400
/mood none
/pause 400
/macro moods.
This simple macro has kept all my toons online.

A lot of people use emote and mood macros to keep from getting logged out from being afk. Going autoAFK is a setting that can be turned off like everyone said.
The thing I hate is the emote spam created by some noob that thinks spamming some complex emote *meaning one that produces a huge spam text* is needed.
I use what I call a silent emote macro. It is silent on any profession except entertainer.
When you are chatting, sometimes stuff you say triggers an auto emote with your character. Like saying 'yay' or 'dunno'. You can play around and find a bunch of these. Once you do pick a few and do the follwoing.
/sing dunno;
/pause 300;
/sing yay;
etc.....
Singing only produces spatial for entertainers so you get a silent emote. Not only does it look cool, you can leave it running at all times. No need to run a combat macro or even a mood macro *which is also silent*. It keeps you ATK, and it adds some animated character to your avatar.
