What makes you say it no longer works?

it was fixed in a patch, doesn't work anymore apparently

That's kind of crappy, no one used it for money or loot, just levels.

From what level can you AFK level there? Could you explain me where exactly? I've got a cl35 toon to level but I'm really bored to do legacy.

Yeah I know, I leveled my mando there but it's useless now. I'll join you with the question.

There's several spots to grind with a group - Frosch, Dantooine (pet grinding spot) etc.

You can no longer get to the spot. Every spot under the tree you are attackable by npcs.

It still works.. I afk leveled an officer there 2 days ago to 90 lol

I just finished leveling an alt there today, and did another last month, and the month before, etc...they have NEVER fixed this, still works the exact same way.

Exactly this, I just grinded there, hasn't been nerfed.

I go to the frosche bunker that i believe is in corellia, there are several rooms and the npcs spawn fairly fast. All you need is a really good toon that can solo a ton of stuff, or an almost on par toon with a medic at his side. Get your toon that you wanna grind on and have a pet out, have macro that makes that pet attack what the main toon is attacking. Use a /assist macro to do that. The NPCs are lvl 90-92 and give a nice amount of xp to both high lvl toons and lvl 5 toons that you would like to level. Also works wonder for pets. I grinded 5-6 toons within a month from lvl 5-90.
