Getting a 6th character

make 5 characters, delete one, keep the character selection screen open for over an hour, so the character is technically deleted, but the crossed out name is still there.
restore that character (it won't show up)
make a new character...
not sure how to control what character moves to the 6th slot (I've only done this once). But the new character AND the deleted character will both be "alive" now.
You need to completely delete a character to access the one in "storage", though
