This is similar to some things that are in the members section but has a little twist.

This weekend I was hearing about more duping of items so i decided to investigate on my own. This may have been out of sheer glitchyness but I was able to dupe my Compisition Bow once. Heres a guide on how I cheated with some Oh So Sweet server lag...

First I thought that the server lags the most when there are many people in one area. So i thought that best place to try to dupe my item was in town. "IN TOWN? THATS NOT SAFE!" I know I know, but I found a building in the DE Village where absolutley no one visits. There are a few of these. They are hidden in the back corners of the village. Just empty houses. I then went to the corner of the interior of this building and proceeded to drop my compisition bow as fast as i could....

After about 30 mins of straight dropping this got boring. I then went to macros.com and made a macro script. I would post the script but its sensitsitive the settings on my computer which would take about 4 pages of posts to explain. This macro had me dropping and picking up the bow about 1 time every second. So i left my computer...

About an hour later I come back. My connection was disconnected so i signed back into my name. When i got onto Bartz I was laggy for about 3mins. Laggy to the point where I could not open my inventory. When the mist of lagg finally faded I checked my inventory to find 2 Compisition Bows.

I dont know if i just got lucky with this one but I DO KNOW that it is very possible to dupe on server lag. This is just one way that I found worked.

Drop an item when the item server is laggy.
Immediately log off before you see the item drop.
Log back in.
Your item is now gone forever.

Due to that, your method has a very high chance of making the item disappear and is therefore not very viable for duping.

thats only if u get a server disconnect, and even then, the item wouldn't disapear. All i know is it worked for me, and because of it I got another 290k bow.

Uhm...try doing it again, since you have the macro already. See if it works somewhat consistantly when server lag is present and post some sceen shots.

I mean...if this really works, I'm sure you'll have no problem doing it anyways just for the $$

I tried this quit some time ago although not with a macro and I was logging myself off and on.

After several attempts I thought I may have done it when in fact I got a worse result.. My BoF was gone completly. I just dont see how you can dupe an items simply because of the unique ID of the items in game.. server checks these on login and logout. I suppose if it sees a duplicate entry it only deletes one, but its possible that during this cleanup it could delete both entrys from the DB leaving you with nothin.

well then use ur macro and keep doing it with $hit stuff, do it with armour or something, if it worked once it should work again.

I still don't really understand how you can dupe items, this must be the shittest game ever made, you can't dupe items even in Single Player games, and this is first game I heard about.

Uhhh...duping and other various exploits have been around since for first mmorpg. There are always unthought of holes in the system...especially with new patches, usually there's something to exploit.

yeah if you ever played champions of norrath youd know that you can dupe in a Single Player game.

ie: dropping all your items and reloading your char a million times...

I remember the manual dupe for Diablo I vaguely. Something like, drop an item, run away from it, run towards it and try to pick it up. But the instant you're picking it up you drop some gold I think. Bam, duped :/

no, it was like you said, but you dont drop gold, you right-click on a potion on your BELT, not inventory, and then the potion can be draagged around and when you drop it on the ground it morphs into the item you just picked up. there was also auto-dupes and such
