Not really expecting this to get me in, hehe, but i thought i might put it out anyway since i didnt see it anywhere else.

Caldari starter ship- IBIS- has a 5m3 drone bay, very useful for new players starting out since mining in this ship is slow and not very profitable or safe, a small drone would provide security from belt rats, or a little boost in mining yield. This info is not widely known ( I think? Ive been playing for a year and found out by accident...lol) but readily accesible by clicking on ship info, and also since new players are not really worried about drones at the start.

Um...it's true, yes, but the tutorial missions give a superior ship (frigate) in less than an hour's time, so: Nay, based on general pointlessness.
