Easy 10k gil an hour, no scamming or anything of the sort.

Reposting a FAQ that I posted on RPG Expert, enjoy!
By the way, I understand that this is not necessarily a large sum of gil for high-level players, but please try to understand that this can all be done with a level one character, and allows a newbie to acquire a nice sum of gil, and, for what it's worth, not at an extremely slow rate.

You will need at least 1,000 gil, ideally 10,000.
Create a Red Mage as a second character slot (content ID) on your account and transfer them your money.
(Ask a friend or use the NPC named Belizieg infront of the markets AH.)
Using that money, complete these Bastok-area quests with your "new" character:
The Quadav's Curse
Buckets of Gold
Brygid, the stylist
A Lady's Heart/To Be Stylish
A Flash in the Pan
Mom, the Adventurer?
The Wisdom of the Elders/Grandma's Wisdom
Groceries
The Bare Bones
Minesweeper
Estimated time to complete all of the above quests is 1 hour.
Now, when you are finished up, head to the Metal Works. Talk to Unlucky Rat, give/trade him Slimy Oil, and he will give you a Warp scroll.
Second, go back to the AH and put the Warp scroll for sale. It should sell for roughly 10,000-15,000 gils. Then, transfer the money and start anew.
Do this for roughly 10 hours (a full saturday i.e.) earn roughly 10,000 x 10 hours = 100,000 gil. That will last for a pretty good time.
You will need 10 characters used and 10 hours of your time, but in the end you'll have 100,000 gil!
