Communication is important, Being able to communicate with Japanese players, at least functionally, can be a great benefit. Here are translations you may find useful:
JP players appreciate it if people have courtesy to learn a few common phrases... you'll be more highly regarded among them.
tasukete -> "help me."
mate kudasai -> say this if you want them to "wait."
doko ni imasuka -> "where are you?"
ikimashouka -> "shall we go?"
ikimashou -> "lets go"
arigatou -> "thank you."
omedetou -> "congrats"
JOBS
WAR - senshi
BLM - kuroi
WHM - shiroi
RDM - akai
THF - shi-fu
MNK - monnku
DAK - annkoku
PAL - naito
BRD - shijin
RNG - karyuudo
BST - keimonotsukai
PHRASES
With more then one person

Positive Response:
onegaishimasu - "Please"

Use the following to quickly invite them

When the Complete Party is formed you can say

I would advise that you pass the leadership to another:

Use the following to help seach for party members

search for white mage lvl 29-30 in current area

If you suspect a party is being form u can say
/t [Job] desu, anatagata no PT, iretekudasai
"Can I join your Party?"
Sassotte kudasai - "Please invite me"
Ima doko ni imasuka? - "Where are you?"
Nigete - "RUN"
Nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimasu - "I only know a little japanese"
PT? - "Would you like to party?"
Here's couple more:
"Thank you" (said after a Heal, etc.). There are many ways to say this but the easy ones are:
- doumo, arigatou, or simply ari
"Nice to meet you" (when first meeting or joining a PT):
- yoroshiku
"Sorry" (when someone in ur PT dies or you goof:
- sumimasenn or gomennasai
"I'm playing from (insert country here)"
- koko (insert country)desu
Omedetou~ - "Congratulations" (used when someone has leveled up)
Here's a simple word that I'm sure you have seen the Japanese use after getting a big Exp pts:
Umai or Ume~ - "Delicious" in non-polite form (It is OK to use these short forms. You probably want to use Umai)
MP kire - "My MP has run out"
suwarimasu - "I'm sitting" (to recover MP)
nige~ or nigete - "run from battle" (when battle is hopeless)
w - abbreviation for warau (laugh), which is Japanese equivalent to "lol"
totetote - "very strong" (say this when you think it may be too strong for your PT)
hai - "yes"
iie - "no"
rotto sinaide kudasai - please no lotting
matsu - "wait"
ikimashou - "lets go"
"Youkoso" means "welcome" like in the phrase "Welcome to (someplace)"
"You're welcome," (in response to a thank you) is "Dou itashima-shi-te"
isshou ni - "together"
sayonara - "bye" (I think you all know that!)
gaikokujin - "foreigner" (remember desu on the end, as desu is like our copula "to be")
