Change your character name yourself

Change your characters name without contacting SE!
People used to change their name by:
1: Deleting their main character.
2: Having a buddy make a mule with main characters name
3: Contacting Square Enix and providing information to "hopefully" have their character restored within 2 weeks.
4: Providing a new character name to SE seeing as how their current name was taken by another player.
Fortunately there is a way around this:
1: Delete your main characters content ID (NOT THE CHARACTER ITSELF!)
2: Keep playing the character as normal until the next billing period when you are no longer able to play.
3: Make a mule with the original characters name.
4: Reactivate your main characters content ID (upon logging in you will be forced to input a new name for your character.)
What is the difference you ask?
1: There is no hassle with having to call SE.
2: SE guarantees your character for up to 3 months after cancelling a content ID.
3: No 2-week wait, you can resume play right away.
4: You can do this as many times as you'd like! (On a monthly basis I'm sure)
By linking your character to a new handle you can become a completely new person. Not even your friends will recognize you! This is great for people that just want a fresh start without having to start the game over.
