Assault Ilrusi Atoll - Mimics Glitch

There's an Assault mission for Ilrusi Atoll in which you have to check chests. If it's a chest, you win. If it's a simulate, you have to defeat it. Now the thing is: target the chest and move close to it without aggroing. If your cursor says it is out of range, it is the chest. If the cursor disappears, it is a simulate. You have to get close enough without aggroing.

@syztem: Mind you, I never said this works on a BCNM. This works on the Assault.

There is an old thread about defeating this Assault by replacing simulate DAT files. After that modification, the hardest part of the Assault is avoiding the pugils.

I have no idea what you mean by "if the cursor disappears."

when you press enter the cursor the little thingy thats on what your targeting dissapears when you press enter.

.dat editing of mimics i thought was fixed by SE.

the .dat editing for this was fixed. Unless something has been discovered.

Help me understand if I'm doing this correctly. I run up to the chest with it targetted AND my arror/circle cursor on it? It's telling me Too Far Away for every chest including the right one.. I hope I'm doing it wrong and it wasn't patched before I could try it :/
