Ok just to start... i don't have Screen Shots for these yet... but figured since i don't see anything the forums about it *Yes i used search* i would post what i have...

First of all... you must be running Vista.... i'm using Vista Ultimate

Second of all EU and US clients both work with this Exe File

Third i'm running x64 edition.... so for now... i have the x64 version of this guide up

Step #1:

Install POL, FFXI, and all 3 expanisons.. or the expansions of your liking

Step #2:

take the follow attachment unzip it to your desktop
inside the POL directory on your HDD
"C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer"
make a copy of your pol.exe and name it something else.. such as pol.old

copy the extracted .exe file into that folder

run windower like you would normally

Viola... you have access to FFXI in Vista... update... and enjoy!

Any comments or complaints let me know
the knoledge of this came from a collective of information, i'm the one who put it together.... this is my .exe not from another site

scan it if you wish.... it's clean....

The original pol that came with the disks had a check in it to make sure that the operating system was Windows XP. This has since been removed in later updates, therefore all you need is a newer version of pol.exe like the one he has posted. Just a side note, probably a good idea to right click pol.exe and select run as administrator as well as Run as XP Compatibility. oh and here is a screen shot of ffxi on vista
