need help to make use of resources here

Couple of problems
1. I follow a likely line for a basic macro and after going through it for ages (Being a noob I do things step by step and slowly) I find out it no longer works. Is there a place where macros that work are as many are out of date. I know I could search but a place for a few which def work would be nice.
2. I have trouble finding files from certain locations like these for example
http://kohack.tk or http://elsasa.atspace.com they send me to for example atspace.com
