Gathering tools

Fishing poles, minning ax's and such are available from some vendors. Can anyone tell me if these items will increase rare finds, or reduce failed gathers, or do they do anything at all?

they dont help anything at all. been proven over and over

they increase the speed at which you gather, forest etc. other then that, nothing at this time.

No they do not.

They were supposed to increase your skill level by 10 but it has never worked.
