yes it is true, just pick up that big rock and see whats under it or take a peek inside the animal den, then put everything back in its place

If my memory serves, when there were minor riots in the crafting boards about Nodes not locking, the made a semi-official statment saying that the items you get from a harvest if somewhat random based on what type of node (You have a small chance of a rare) and the item is not selected untill you actually perform the harvest.

Correct when the bar is done harvesting it rolls the dice to determine what you get. Back in EQ they pre-loaded mobs till they figured out peoplehad hacked the stream. Now it is all done server side.
