Loosing Prestine, but still getting one (howto)

When you loose enough durability, the item will drop down to a teir 3 item. Do not give up! Use your repair buffs (click two at a time, and you will need to play with this for best results for each item) and you can actually repaire the dammage so that it will still turn out premium.
To see how close you are, look up at the overall progress bar at the top. You will notice a small line that seperates prestine items from messer ones. Just get your durability back up above that line and it will turn out prestine.

i tried this, but it seemed that i would only see a gain (+xx) afte rusing one skill and letting the reuse timer fill back up, when it filled back up i would see the +, so my question is does using 2 at a time help? sometimes this caused me to take intense dmg

Yes it works, but it can also backfire.
You really have to play with the durability buffs to find out wich combination of 1,2, or even all 3 will raise your durability. If you have a recipe that that never happens, you are SOL, but most of them haave a combination of the buffs that will raise durability.

I use this all the time and it works great.
So far I'm 100% on making pristine armor that cons yellow (about 15 items so far). However, a couple of them have taken me several minutes of button mashing to pull it off.

Does the order of mashing matter? I haven't had very good luck on some of the chemistry items.

Not that I've been able to determine. there was talk in beta/early release that there were certain "magic" combos, but I think they were all smoking a little too much crack.
Avoid the yellow beaker looking one unless you're desperate. It reduces chance for success. I can usually recover easily enough with the ? and book buffs.

The best way is to experiment. Also keep in mind (at least for me) different recipe's have different "magic" combos that work better on some and worse on others.
