go in-game then type /log. once logging is on link something in /say then minimize eq2. go into your everquest 2 directory click on the folder logs then click on the folder thats name is your server then click on the log you just made. you will see a line of text like this

\aITEM -1817495732 an engraved vessel:an engraved vessel\/a

now change the line of text after the : and before the \/a to whatever you want.
example:

\aITEM -1817495732 an engraved vessel:my new item\/a

now highlight that line of text and copy it with ctrl+C go ingame and paste it into the chat bar with ctrl+V. then click enter.

it will read [my new item] and when you click on it it will link the item you linked earlier.
