Seeking Advice

I've been thinking about starting an account on Guild Wars. I would like some advice from long term players.
Can a character solo to max level?
What is the best class to solo?
How long does it normally take to reach max level?
Can the suggested solo class eventually join a guild and do end-game content?
Can the suggested solo class be competitive in end-game PVP?

After 8 years of eq I had gotten tired of the waiting for group, and the length of raids
so i tried gw and loved no monthly fees and
with guild wars you could pve with henchies forming your own group, then they have added heroes and then M.O.X the gollem and this does tie into pvp as you could do gw pve earning your skills then going pvp
or starting from scratch pvp you can if I remember unlock all skills for $ and save time try reading Register to unlock hidden link from the earliest bottom to top
with gw it's all about the build but unlike some games you can re-do your attribute points as you like
if you started pve and you might want to try that route its fun I would suggest a monk warrior or warrior monk a fighter that heals or a healer that fights
you could probably find a cheaper price but Register to unlock hidden link at $49 for all 3 campaigns isnt bad with the no monthly fees
theres only 20 levels in gw but in the pve version to open all skills you might ding level 20 60 or 70 times
you could probably get to 20 pve in a month or insta create a pvp only char
since lotro is getting a little stale i should check out gw again the heroes really are fun as you can outfit them and set their attitude and if memory serves trigger their skills (they kinda stick together henchies or heroes _seemed_ to sometimes heal one of their number before ME (unforegiveable:)

I have a couple of more questions, if you don't mind...
Is there a server selection if I buy the game?
(I did not notice one for the free trial)
Is there a specific guild or type of guild that I should look for in GW?

You get a server selector in your ui
and there are us and international servers, if you create your account as us, you can visit an internatonal server a few times but too many times and your locked to it
guilds are like in any game player controled, gw is a younger crowd than say lotro (in my head I always imagine this scenario:
kid I want WoW
parent (looking at cost of software and monthly fee, looks at gw software and NO monthly fee) here! you'll play this and like it...)
so finding a guild is just really finding those you can put up witth and seeing if they can put up with you...
but play the game solo and go through enough content so you have your game play down (don't want to embaress yourself)
you can in pve go to the arena if I recall right and with henchies see some pvp things against computer generated opponents
you can buy your own fortress and stock it with vendors too its a pretty good game
albeit like lotro is clean with no hacks or exploits to it but in contrast to other games ncsoft is actually tightening things up rather than dumbing things down example:
there used to be wreckage in game you could loot no more wreckage
chests used to not need keys now they need keys or lockpick components?
if you like pvp maybe try to get in aion beta FLYING pvp:)
