SWG Hacks - Easily Decrease In Game Lag

I have an old computer so slideshow battles are pretty common for me. In these 50 v 50 battles things get bad for most anyone, virtually, regardless of your system. The games got a lot of old code (cough pre-cu, CU, NGE, etc.) that was basically written for 2003 technology. If your having really bad problems or want to try to speed things up a bit (by at least a couple frames at least) then try this:
XP users: (Vista is basically same thing I just don't know the commands off the top of my head)
Click Run, type: msconfig
Click General (Tab) - Selective Startup
Under Selective Startup unclick:
System.InI, Win.InI, Load Startup Items
Under Services (Tab) - Hide All Microsoft Services: Unclick anything unnecessary (You can probably click Disable All)
Restart Computer and load into game.
This will turn off all non essential programs and background noise you may have and will help things run smoother. On a side note, you can still load up anything else you want to run while under selective startup but there's a catch. If you turned off your firewall/virus protection (a big background hog) then obviously those programs aren't running. You can still listen to music and watch porn etc. while you play but I advise that you don't download stuff or open any email attachments while you have this option off. Also, if you use a system recovery/rollback (I forgot the name of it but it's also a big background hog) then that will be turned off as well. You can have your computer store a restore point prior to tinkering with your computer if you're that worried about it.
This isn't a cure all to lag problems but it does help. If you're just playing this game and not downloading anything then it's fine to turn off your firewall, system restore, and other non essential programs. Even if your checking email with attachments, I know both Yahoo mail and MSN have built in virus scans for their sites.
