I read on a post here somewhere that you could reset potions by placing them in the hotbar and never examining them in the inventory window. Upon further investigation I could not get that to work but I did find something interesting about Totems such as the SoW totem. Here is what I did.

1. Buy the totem you want to use.
2. Place it in the activate item slot
3. Drag the slot with the totem to a hotkey
4. Click on the hotkey and it will cast SoW on you. (24% speed increases)
5. Cancel the spell effects prior to it expiring and cast again. You will notice that no charges have been used and you will still have 5 remaining.

Notes: Never zone with the spell active it will change the charges

Notes: Never examine the totem in the inventory slot just place your curser over the hotkey it will tell you how many charges you have left.

Yeah... nm they moved it to nerfed and it still works lol.

- Tooltips now update properly to show the number of charges remaining on an item.

confirm if is this had any impact?

sorry double post it gave me an error saying had to many connections but still went through not sure what that is about

Maybe my items are grand fathered in or I just have a magic touch... also mine went up one charge using my strat. So whatever

interesting yesterday after i got home from work I tried and it used a charge... It might have been since it was the last charge on that totem not sure I will try again when i get to the house and test some more.

Even before the big patch.. I couldnt get this to work.. ie..
I had spirit of wolf totem in clicky slot one.. and mana stone in the other..
I had just bought the totem before I zoned into TS .. it was 5/5 via the highlight option on the hotbar.. set the wolf totem to hotbar key number 8 .. I was running from TS to CoD.. so at the docks.. i pressed number 8.. and then I started running.. before I zoned... and when I was zoned in.. I highlighted it.. and the charges were 4/5.

of course.. even after pressing 8 to cast it.. and highlighting it.. i saw 4/5

so what am I doing wrong here?

im on oasis server. as of today.. im having same problems

My totems are being used up now also on the Unrest server.

pretty sure this can be moved to nerfed.

To the guy that wanted to know what he is doing wrong.

As it was stated that you didn't state in you're post, you need to make sure that the effect is cancelled before you zone. Also on totems there is a magic time between cancel and zone that doesn't count the charge I am not sure what it is.

After the patch, it will show as used in the hotbar. However, if you follow everything as it used to be it will go back to what it was prior on zone.

-Cast from hotbar
-Don't examine
-Don't unequip (maybe you can I never do)
-Cancel effect before zone (probably at least a minute)

OK. I stand corrected. I was basing my conclusion that it had been nerfed on the fact that the count instantly decreased in the tooltip when mousing over the hotkey.

What knd of neat totems does EQ2 have?

This is nerfed doesn't work for me please confirm
and i used this everyday gonna cost me a ton now haveing to buy them from now on
