SWG Tricks: Fast trick for antenna mission

Is Restuss dominated by the opposite faction on your server? Are you happy with the fast antenna xp, but want to grind faster? Well, you're in luck!

First, your toon needs to be commando. Even if that's not what you want to be, it's worth the respec IMO because of how easy this makes the antenna quest. Next, get a crate of swoops, then head out to restuss and find yourself an antenna. ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS GET CLOSE!!! Even if there are 30+ rebs around, you should be able to swoop in and get within 20m of the antenna (I was doing that at lvl 10). You will likely die, but that does not matter. Alive or dead, bring up the radial menu on the antenna, and as a commando, you will see the "Set Charges" option. Choose it, and a countdown will begin. Once the countdown ends, radial the antenna again and choose "Set Charges" or "Arm Charges" (for some reason the option name randomly changes) - BOOM! The antenna will blow up. :D

This works well for two reasons - #1, you can do it while dead, incapped, whatever, as long as you're somewhat close to the antenna (20m is approx.), and #2, it's MUCH faster than actually shooting it down, can be done solo, and any lvl can do it.

Just make sure you're the only one doing this - after you start the process, if another commando tries it, his mission will fail.

And have fun with the opposite faction players who smugly think they're keeping you from grinding... only to see the antenna blow up next to your corpse. :P

works perfectly...

there's two steps though
first you "set the explosives"...you'll get a subquest named "Explosives charging". A 10 second timer goes off. After that's done the subquest is completed.
second you have to arm the explosives within like 10 seconds otherwise you fail the mission...when you do you will get a second subquest named "Arm explosive"...another 10 second or so timer will goes off...when it completes you complete the mission...

don't think I'd call this a guide though maybe I'm wrong...seems like this is something that's built into the game...a game mechanic for this quest...it's still nice though and they should get credit...

btw...I haven't yet tested this while dead...since my faction currently controls the city...I will test the dead part as soon as the imps take over the city (they always do at night)

This is still useful for grinding commendations...so I wouldn't call it nerfed yet...

i wouldnt call this nerfed, u can stil grind comms using it, and still, i c a bunch of low lvls in restuss grinding up lvls really fast on these quests, this is still good, evn tho it doesnt giv as much xp
