Since SOE improved the AI of the droids, it has become more difficult to defeat the army. The way to success is to use the miner army to fight for you.

The DA mission has two bases, the large primary one and a smaller one with a generator in it. In front of the minor one are two miners who you can talk to to get their assistance (they will deploy troops). Talk to these guys and have them follow you back to the entrance of the main base. You should see a large number of miners already there. Have your miners deploy in that area. From this point on, ignore the small base. If they do destroy the generator, you will get a debuff, but its a pre-NGE one so it has no real effect on you.

One you have set up your forces, grab a gun and go fishing for droids! Run out, take a few pop shots at a group and have them chase you back to the miners. In fact, run right through the group of miners so that they will agro on the droids and kill them.

Now, rinse and repeat. You only want your miners to fight one group of droids or one elite droid at a time for two reasones 1) so the miners won't get killed (they are tough little guys!) and 2) so you don't die! a dozen pissed off droids can ruin your whole day!

The Droid Commander will spawn 20 minutes into the fight. Do the same thing, but get your loot macro running, so when he dies you can get what he drops even if you are still agroed.

It generally takes 30 minutes or less to complete the mission.

Nice tactic. Was only discussing trying to solo the droid army last night.

I forgot to add, it appears you need to destroy the generator in the small base to get the whole miner army to spawn.

I will say "yay" but I will post below some changes you can make to it and it will make things much easier and knock off about 10 minutes.

1. No need to destroy the generator anymore

2. No need to bring the miner leaders up to large base

Short and sweet:

Run to lower base (smaller base) talk to one of the miner leaders and if you are facing the base make him follow you to the left.
Take him about 50 meters or until you have a slope on your right side and a slope on your left side. Now speak to him again and deploy his troops *twice* converse with him twice and have him deploy his troops twice. Wait for two waves to come out then speak to him again and say you need to move but do not move, stay there and speak to him again and deploy twice again. Keep repeating this about 10-15 times and you will have an army there.
Now grab the other miner leader and put him to the other side or to the right if facing camp and have him stop then repeat with the leader as you did with other.

Now just sit back and relax. The Forward Commander will always spawn 20 minutes after you enter the instance no matter what you do now.

The armies you just setup will take out any forces that come toward the base and nothing will ever get destroyed.

Now when 20 minutes is up and the commander and his army takes the field wait for them to agro to your little squad you already had setup. Once they agro run in and start hitting the commander and have him follow you about 50-75 meters in the direction he came from. If you dont your troopers will start shooting him or his army will attack you.
Once you have him far enough away kill him loot him then leave. or you can wait 5 more minutes and get the quest complete.

With what I posted the only thing you have to worry about is what type of beer to grab while waiting the 20 minutes.

just a lil more to add to make the miners move a lil bit faster when u are moveing them around ,stop them a 2nd time an then tell them to follow again an they will run with u instead of just walking behide u , just a lil speed tip

This seems nerfed... I talked to the guy and deployed twice, and only one group showed up, and the white NPC disappeared. I tried on the other one, same thing. Can't call out huge armies anymore, unless I did something wrong.

I think this is nerfed too, you can talk to the guy again even when hes yellow by using the radial - and you can tell him to move and deploy again, but the guys he has already spawned disappear when you do this.. so it seems the maximum he will bring out is two waves.

Does this work in Chapter 6?

well test it out and if it isn't working just say nerfed so we may move it.
