Help defend a bounty

Ok, dont know if already posted, just had it happen to me recently.
A group member of mine was fighting a bh who was after his bounty.
I stood around him watching, then, the bh hit me with burn, and i was able to help my group member kill the bh.
Also works with npc bounties, if your group members bounty hits you with an area, you can also engage the npc.
Now go help your group members beat up those nasty bh's!! lol.

If this is the case then this means even the Bounty Hunter that is out hunting, if he drops a trap anyone can run into it can become in combat with the BH, some how i don't think this will work.
Only reason why this may have happened to you is the fact he could of been TEFed with you.
It's not even worth trying as i've been hunted and seen friends hunted many times and it's never happened.
So it's a Nay unless you wanna supply a Video?

I'm not 100% sure on how it happened, I got hit with burn, I didnt run through any traps. I will try and figure it out to a tee.
It's the same as the npc bounty missions, You cant attack a group members mission, but if you are near him when the npc uses a grenade you can attack.
PS.
I was really close to him, Within 2m . (If that helps)

Nay unless you can tell us how to reproduce it. Burn will not land on another player unless they are attackable to the BH, via TEF, war, bounty, duel, or SF flags.

Alright then, Your loss.
If your not even going to attempt to try it, then go !@#$%^* yourselves.
I KNOW this works.
It's a bug, so your rationalization on what can attack what is useless.
