Tired of that second or third outfit taking up room in your characters packs?
Just equip the clothes accordingly in your characters outfit slots #2-3
and then dump them from your inventory into your bank or housing storage.
This will free up your characters packs.

Still works. Can even destroy the clothing and long as you leave it equipped you will have it's appearance, without junking up your pack's slots!

this is a known feature of the cosmetic system...and is on the official lotro page

...
http://www.lotro.com/component/content/ ... arbershops
"Equipping an item to an Outfit slot will still leave the item in your inventory. This will allow you to trade those items to other players, store them in your bank, etc."

not only is it known and on the lotro page, but a tutorial window pops up in-game the first time you equip a cosmetic item telling you that you don't have to keep the item for it to stay equipped.
