I seem to get this error message as I click on the VGExtreme.exe.
Windows box comes up and says

VGExtreme has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

and it wants me to report to microsoft which im obviously not going to do. Anyone else have this problem?

Yea thats fine. Just thought maybe something was up. K do this next time that happens. Hit cntrl alt delete and look in your performance tab and look at memory see if its maxed out or not via the total and available phsyical memory. If so then go to the processes tab and see whats hogging all your memory. Dont worry we will fix it :)

I have a similar problem that seems to have started with the last VG patch. I keep getting: A startup error occurred. Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryexceptin' was thrown.
On the task manager VGExtreme is using 529,732k of the 3998M under Commit Charge I'm only using 1017k. I tried to delete and repatch VGE but still getting the same error ....

tried everything u guys said

Does the 'System.OutOfMemoryException' error happen on the first try when you start vgextreme? or on the second try?

restart your pc and then try it again. If you get the 'System.OutOfMemoryException ' error, then I suggest you reinstall vgextreme completely.

Usually you get this kind of error when one of your programs has a memory leak in it. Not sure if it's directly involved with the new patch or not, that will be something wyv will have to look into :P.

Also on a side note, I'd make sure that your .NET frameworks haven't become corrupt.

The problem for me at least occurs after it patches and I type in my log on information. There seems to be a delay at that point and where it normally opens up the default VGExtreme project file. Before it opens it up it kicks out the memory error. It seemed to patch fine and every time after that I try to run it I get to the same point and it kicks to the error.

I have tried to reinstall VGExtreme numerious times but same issue. I didn't see an uninstall option so I have just been deleting the folder then reinstalling it.

How do I check if the .NET frameworks are corrupt ?

Any chance of getting some admin help on this memory issue ? Seem's like at least two of us are having similar problems since the last patch...

I've seen an OOM issue that pops up under the following circumstances:

1) Start VG
2) Start VGExtreme
3) Play a while.
4) Kill VG
5) Kill VGExtreme
6) Start VG
7) Start VGExtreme - get OOM

You can go look in your running tasks (CTR+ALT+DELETE) and find an old version of VGExtreme still running although you thought you killed it. Manually kill that again.

Now, restart VGExtreme - and 50% of the time I'm stuck with an OOM.

Reboot the whole machine, start from scratch, no problems.

I
1) Start VG
2) Begin to start up VGEx and once i get to a certain point, which is after i have logged in and what, the problem occurs.

killerbob12 - maybe a "stoopid" question, but is that after a fresh reboot?

Also, are you waiting until you have selected a character and are actually in game to start up VGX or are you starting it up at the character select screen - or even earlier at the patch screen?
