First, make a macro like such: /targetnextNPC; /cast "Pickpocket"; /lootall

Second, go to an area where mobs are yellow and attacking your "allies" such as the Rai'Jin Stonghold (out front), the Academy to the north of it, etc. There are tons of these places all over Telon. Stealth, stand behind a group of the mobs and spam that pickpocket mac. You might want to make a different chat tab that has your PMs, Region and the like. You can set this to any simple keyboard macro program, sit back and watch. Normally when you pickpocket a humanoid mob, and attempt to do so again, the chances of you getting an item are reduced once you get one item, but when you spam with that macro, for some reason, you get items over and over again, bringing up your PP skill quite quickly and safely. I let this run over night, woke up with about 1g in sellable junk and alot of assembly stuff to train my Apply Poison skill with =)

This also works with mobs who are normally aggro with you, such as the Aeokor near the Beacons on Qalia, if you are 1 level above, they shouldnt detect your stealth if you're behind and a safe distance away.

Spamming pickpocket doesn't up your chance for loot. Higher pickpocket skill doesn't seem to do anything but decrease your chance of getting caught, and looting 2 or more items from mobs fairly randomly. My pickpocket skill is at 300 right now, and I often get 3 items from things 2 levels up or down from me. Where-as if I were to go run into the Ksarvi caves by Khal, and pickpocket every mob probably only one in 30 would give me >1 item consistently. I do agree that pickpocketting occupied mob is probably the safest way to do something like this. But it should be of note that if pickpocket for some reason fails, you are now on the hate list of your target.. It's also a bad idea to be around any aggro NPC with stealth at a low level, when the blue question marks appear over something's head, the mob turns to you regardless of your radius arc to the mob in question. You have about half of a second to react at pickpocket range. So without a run speed buff or similar -- it's going to eat you.

When I was at the Lao Jin Academy? (place up by Tanvu), for example, the occupied mobs did not attack me when failed, merely went aggro and kept attacking their enemy until death. If you try to PP a mob more than once, not only do you have a chance to fail, but you don't receive items again if you have received from that particular mob already.

It seems that spamming a target change and coming back to a mob will allow you to receive that "first item" over and over. I filled up an inventory with Lint in less than an hour doing this. It's not effective enough to be a gold farming opportunity, but it does allow you to bring your skill up quickly after you level.
