This spot is in martok so if you are not an orc or goblin might want to get rep because u will need a quest to do this the easy way but you can also do it the hard way.
outside of the actual city martok go south then east to the ogre mound.
the quest uyou get is to talk to the ogre king or somethin like that if you get the quest after you talk to him the ogres will not attack you then you can run through the cave and mine without fighting but if you dont you can kill the ogresthey are lvl 10-12 i think.
THe cave that you want to mine in is the last cave on the ogre mound the same cave the ogre king is in there is copper and tin nodes in there and you just run around mining there is also timber root nodes and quarrying nodes in there not sure which tier nodes those are though .

Yay..it is possible, there is even a spawn of gneiss that happens once in a while. Question now is where to find a place for lvl 200 to 400 and up. If you really patient you can also lvl quarrying in there but the numbers of nodes is far less.

Ok...my mining in there is up to 2xx and I found also 2 nodes of xxx, quarrying is also at 2xx.

P.S.: I changed the numbers because it would have been easier to triangulate who I am in the game by checking logs of who mined there. Dont know if its possible but better safe than sorry.

in the ogre mount, last cave...but be aware, if you not an goblin or orc must work faction in order to be able to get a quest that makes the ogres friendly so you can mine there.

Good luck...I got all I could get from quarring and mining there.

Well waiting on that yay hah.

I got killed a couple times, lvl 40-50 npc's, so it's risky.

When I tried this, I made a new orc char, got it to level 6 and went in the caves, all the ogres are aggressive... Use of stealth got me to king gruul or whatever his name is where I managed to clean up one deposit of slate before getting gang banged by the whole cave. Didn't work for me...

/yay, but it's best to do this with a high level char since ( like pauljw said) all the ogres are aggressive.
