Check out Ten Ton Hammer's new Sorcerer Creation Guide by Grimore Valentine:
The Sorcerer is Vanguard's heavy damage dealing caster. The Sorcerer has little to offer the group in the way of utility spells and buffs.Damage and counterspells are the sorcerer's role, and he does it with efficiency.
Intelligence, wisdom, and vitality are the Sorcerer's primary attributes because a Sorcerer lives or dies by his spells. Intelligence increases the potency of his spells while wisdom increases his mana pool. Vitality helps the Sorcerer regenerate energy faster in battle. Because a Sorcerer has so many finishers based on scoring a critical hit with spells, it could be worth favoring WIS over INT. Those who like to play it safe will concentrate on INT and make every hit deal more damage on average.
Building a good Sorcerer takes some careful planning at the character creation screen and requires you to learn a handful of tactics in the lower levels.

I wouldn't call that a guide really...I figured that stuff out in the first 5 minutes. It's so damn basic/obvious. What a sorc really needs is 10+ guide and AoE locations.
What Sorcerers Really Need

So, how bout it? Anyone know where to AoE grind? Someplace where they cluster in, say, groups of 3-5 and 2 dots so they go down quick? atm, i'm looking for mobs 17-20 for this, but an as-you-level guide would be sweet

For level 17-20 their are a few places. The place with the most is around Renton keep. (If you are on a team based pvp server, this is usually overran by good aligned classes.)
The 2 places you can go near renton (Which is on thestra) are the ants in the farm behind the keep. They are not alway's up. But their is a quest associated with the ants. If this farm has ants spawned, then you will be set, one full pop at the farm usually completes the quest at least once. Which makes it good exp. (16-20)
The 2nd place near renton is in the quary to the north of Renton. This is part of the Old Veteran quest line which starts from the dwarf inside of renton keep. The mobs are grouped in groups of 3 in there, but it is possible to pull many more than that. Expecially if you have a healer or other class that can take some hits and gather them up for you. It tkes some time to get used to pulling there, and how the mobs repop (Seems to repop in sections. And not at timed intervals, I have killed areas and had them repop almost instantly. This is also a good place if you are working on the Old Veteran and quarry qust line. (18-20)
While typing this, I have thaught of a few more decient aoe locations. Both are not just 2 dots, but some 3 dots intermixed. They are NE of Renton, at Silverlake/ Lakeview. And again associated with quests. The first is on the road into LakeView. The road is swarming with bandits. You have to be careful since these bandits constantly stun, and can actually keep you stun locked if you are not careful. I found this best to do with 2 other people. Somone that can take hits to round up the mobs for you, a healer to keep them alive (If healer is pulling, it is harder because they can fall victim to that stun locking, depending on their level this may or may not be an issue.) Either way, have somone run around and grab the mobs. Stand at max distance, and fireball away. Once you rip aggro, rift like MAD till they are all dead. Their is also a quest associated with these mobs. Supplies for somone, I can't really remember off of the top of my head. It is non repeatable though. (18-20)
The other place is on the opposite side of Silverlake from Lakeview. It is some farms with some crazed/ wicked/ ? farmers. These mobs are 2-3 dot. They can easily be single pulled (Non social) But with somone to round these mobs up, (Or even solo, although it requires some practice) they can be very nice exp. The 3 dots don't seem to have a lot of HP, more than a 2 dot, but not enough that they are impossible to aoe. (16-22)
I didn't plan this post, so some of the info may be a little innacurate. BUT, these are the areas I was able to aoe a lot. I rarely soloed in these areas. I often ran in small groups of 2-4 people around this area.

Ice_hole: thanks for the reply. Info was accurate (esp. those little bandits you mentioned. KS rotation, i could swear).
Another spot I ran across is in Qalia: the Elephant Graveyard has tons of mobs (most skinnable, and those that aren't can be harvested by lumberjacks-treants). The area is full of tier 2-3 metals and stone as well. Mobs are a bit lower, tho, 15-18 mostly.
For anyone who grabs those ants, you'll probably see quickly that Rendjaw doesn't stay aggro as long as you ignore him. Easy to peel off h/e many mobs you can handle and let the rest go. Also, i've pulled a few times, waiting for him to head back into the enclosure, only to watch him bug out on my side of the fence, while all the little ants returned. It's really nice when that happens, since you are then free to kaboom the entire pen in one pull.

I think I have discoverd a new, higher level spot for some aoe goodness. I just have to level a few more times to be able to scope it out. Needless to say, their is a camp of level 30 ish mobs, that all kinda roam around close to eachother. I am not able to verify how it woll work solo. Being level 25 makes these lvl 30-32 mobs pretty tough solo. But I will keep ya updated as to how it works. (Probably by next weekend I will know, maybe sooner if double exp weekend pans out how it is currently.)
