I think its your router check to see in the FAQ for ports that need to be open.

I get this error too and nope that dosn't fix it.
If you watch the log, it passes the authentication stage.
Like if you put the wrong password in, it won't pass it.
Does "XUnleashed" or "Exhume" have to be installed in a certain way?
Looks like a bug some place to me..
UPDATE:
Tried it on a different computer and same exact error.

Its a random error that was updated in lotroE 1.0 which has not been released yet. All you can do is keep trying until it gets passed that error. It was a thread synchronization error.
ALSO, make sure you are using lotroE 0.92 and not 0.91. To update, delete everything but the UpdateLotroExtreme.exe and then run it.

I was getting this same error until I renstalled my XP op sys. Everything worked fine until I upgraded to Vista 32-bit. Now LOTRExtreme crashes upon launch

. Can't wait for the new version. Good Job W.

Deleting all the old files except for the updater, then updating to the new one fixed it. Thanks.

Did you update something?
Maybe you broke it.

You can try to manually register the VGEHelper.dll with Regsvr32
