Im asking simply casue im gettin no feedback thats fixin anything with a direct MS Dialog Box Error Send crash, ive reinstalled with updater several times, ive reregistered with regsvr32 and regctrls just to be sure, ive reinstalled .net several times, uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, everything i could think of.....now im tryin to understand the script to see why its crashing but i cant even figure out where its crashing so i have no idea what to go about doing next....

Only thing I can think of is to delete all files except the updatelotro.exe file and run it to get a fresh copy of all files.

is this something that will be updated and possibly fixed? any way i can help to figure out what it is or how to fix it?

The real question is why win2k? Server?

imho the real question is WT* XP or Vista, you like to waste resources on absolutely nothing along with loseing stability?

Theres really no reason to need Xp, and vista they have pushed a lil farther just so they CAN screw people out of useing older software, most likely because they cant get them off of it otherwise, why would you leave stabilty and speed for crashes and annoying advisors...

Im not a very experienced coder but i do understand code somewhat, not a single piece of snipped of code ive gotten from an XP or Vista piece of software didnt work on Win2k - the few that didnt run right off the bad only required a couple of lines of code to impliment win2k, which are the same lines of code they put in to impliment winxp or vista - its just the ones they decided to throw in there..

Example AOE3 (age of empires 3, Microsoft game) - they tried to say it was Win2k Incompatable, in all reality they just tried to make the installer not work on Win2k, so what did i have to do, Server install, and wal-ah, worked beautifully...

so they go to the next step, another example Company of Heroes, where they not only added the check to the installer but to the executable for the game as well.....had to find someone else to help me with that one, for im not that great with breaking apart executables and changing them but go figure, had CoH running on Win2k as well...

theres no reason to waste you money on the OS, then waste your money on resources and processing power just to get that OS to run up to par with your old OS, then more drive space to hold the crap thats wasting your resources and process power, all compete waste imho

Not to mention when the first thing that comes to mind when you think win2k is server, why is that, arent those the same reasons/features you would want in your desktop?

Im really curious, WTheck would you want XP.....OR Vista, please lemme know what you like about them, im curious why the heck people even bother to go there and then would even defend their OS (After 3.11 and 2k its more like a POS to me, but i may be missin somethin about the OS's)

but really how does this change the question, is LOTROExtreem suppose to be Win2k compatable? If not then Do i need to find someone else that can make it compatable or will it be made compatable with future patches/versions?

I would be attempting to learn/write scripts and would be more than happy to be posting them as well, i wanted to atleast see what this was possible of before blowing alot of time on AutoIT, id prefer to use one or the other reguardless of LotroE being able to run AutoIT script, cutting out one or the other leaves out possible problems or bugs and make it easier to debug or find where the problem is comming from....

I was making fun of win2k just curious as to why lol. I agree vista is junk. XP pro is decent because it does have a lot of support.

the sad part, yes XP does have alot of support, cause it Needs it :P

and im actually runnin win2k pro, which i may not have the option to for long cause MS is a worthless b%#$ makin programs specifically NOT run on win2k reguardless of the fact it has everything it needs to run, they are just putting checks into the software probably as simple as "if not running on XP close now" just to force upgrade people...

i really dont like the way they are forceing us into their lil hole where they can abuse the user to the furthest extent, forceing you to run software or online validations for stuff opening up security risks when its all not nessessary, we ran without it for many many many years and it adds nothing...

but ive found many sited devoted to helping people turn XP into win2k so we can pretend that we werent forced into a dumbed down, sanitized, slower, less stable OS...

i mean if i wanted the features they add to upgrade 2k to XP and XP to Vista, i would keep stability and just buy a damn Mac, thats about what they are turning the OS into...

im a bit bitter on this fact, i remember being PO'd that i had to goto 2k, i still wish windows and dos ran together as beautifully as Dos 6.22 Win 3.11...only i would sub 3.11 for 2k at this point, but when 2k came out it was about as bad as Vista is now

i waited until not a single piece of new software would run on 3.11 before i went to 2k, happy knowing that i wouldnt have to change anything for awhile because 2k and XP were basically the same thing, XP just came with all new problems and holes....

id be extactic if they had just kept working on the old systems and added features to it....
Win2k and Dos 6.22...

i miss Telemate script and AT Commands hehehe
BBS's TeleArena and TradeWars MajorMud EmlenMud

ok i got quite a bit off topic, but such nice memories....i miss the old way of actual content rather than just graphics...

Guess ill try a fresh win2k install soon and see how things go, maby give in to XP cause i am starting to run into the problem of MS bein the prick and making THEIR software (or anything they are involved in) not run on anything under XP reguardless of system/OS being capable

thx..
