Pro Tip: Defense Missions : Star Trek Online Submission

Complete a defense missions (aka public quest) and after completing - instead of waiting for the 5 minute timer do this...

Once out of combat from previous mission:

Hit "M" To bring up Map

Click "Change Instance" button

Select an instance with other people (the more the better usually)

Now look at the mission progress and make sure it is active (ex. 4/9 Klingon Ships Destroyed).

Rinse and Repeat to quickly finish the "Defend Quests 3/3 Sector Missions"

Can members say yay or nay to this so we may give tu bucks and/or premium. If you nay the submission remember to include as to why.

yay is does work ive done this a few times myself.

This is quite common actually and how most that leveled quickly in the beginning did just as that.

This is one of the main reasons they started limiting the number of players per instance.

We used to have 10+ per instance of DSEs, now its down to 5 cap but I think there is a bug or glitch to get around that as well.

This is also gamble of sorts because you can spend 5 minutes trying to find an instance that is just starting or mid mission, as where you will come up empty handed and better off just staying in the instance you are already in.

Your chances are greater @ lower levels as there are more players @ lower levels and the % of players gets less as you raise rank.

Although, since the game has been public for a while and others are running their 3rd-4th character through, it shouldn't be that difficult to find the missions.

i agree, but i have that about 75% of the STO population doesn't know they can freely change the instance they are in, the glitch to have more than 5 people in an instance is to join an instance with a TEAM. You will always be able to join your teammates instance. (unless it has been fixed).

Its still good that you pointed this out so that peopl who didnt know now do.
The best glitch insta i was in was a pvp i entered as fed but in the insta i was klingon, was kinda funny only happened once but having a Sov fighting for the klingons must surprised many.

Ive joined an instant with 5 and glitched it and it does work when ur teamed
