Ok, I know this forum is for submissions, but the general discussion forum is open to non registered users, so hopefully its ok to hide this in here?


Currently, incase any of you are wondering about all this talk of "loopholes" or Duping going on on the NA server, I can tell you what it is.

There is a bug/exploit where you can spam use on a Theyril chest for example (works on leenspars too) at such a rate where you continually obtain the chest loot but KEEP the key.

Unfortunately I dont know this one myself. I dont have any theyril keys etc to try it out.

Its starting to get more and more attention on the forums so its going to be fixed asap. WE need to figure out really fast.


Nemesis are doing it on NA1. IF you go to the chest in the centre dungeon you will find them camping the chest, usually 2 of them with some guards. If you kill them you will see yourself. Always just ONE key on them but upwards of 50k in gold (Thats 5k gold per 30 mins - hours of standing there)

I've heard they use a 3rd party program to spam the client with packets when doing it?
Anyone here tech savvy enough to figure out how?

I would think it is rather unlikely to work due to the way things are being handled. You sent the packet to the server that says "Open Chest" Server then checks Serverside if you have a key. If yes Server sends packet to client saying "you opened blah blah", generates the reward and tells the client what it is, as well as deletes the key in your inventory serverside and then sends a packet to the client, that it is not in your inventory anymore.

So I wonder what kind of probably injected packages you would have to send to stop the server from deleting the key after the use.

Well thats IF it is indeed a 3rd party program. Could just be issues with lag caused by it. Things have duped before (arrows for me) during a laggy trade with a guild member.

More likely that they glitch keys a lot and camp there to cash a bunch of keys at once.

In my opinion you are making an assumption they are duping.

This being said, some of the early day dupes from 0-6 months involved exploiting the database transactions on the server.

So for instance, two people looting out of a corpse at the same time, and some others which I wont mention. These have since been fixed by improving the underlying transaction controls for the game framework.

It is not impossible that what you are saying is true, just unlikely over the much more likely possibility of them cashing dozens of keys from exploiting mobs.
