I farm for gold as I lvl. I also try to have quests on because quite often they require you to kill xx of a certain mob type, which turns out to be the mob you are killing anyways.

Questing is as much a good xp maker as xp grinding. You just gotta combine those two with farming.

Using that technique I got rich and I lvl from time to time. Lvling is not my focus right now. I missed being incredibly rich in FFXI (something that's impossible to achieve) and I'm farming like crazy.

I try to run around to all zones my level and doo all the wuests I can. I drop the runner quests as they don't give enough xp for hte effort and time required. I love kill quests that let me grind a mob and gain quest xp at the same time.

By farming for gold I meant to say I was actively doing a certain activity primarily for the gold (currency) it provides. I will not give away all of my tricks on this site, as the key to a working economy is diversity. (so I'd rather have people find their own money making techniques, different from mine's)

I buy a skinning knife.. Sell ALL other equipment I get untill about lvl 16.. stick to your newbie zone untill you finish all the quests, then travel to whatever zone seems to have the highest #of quest destinations...

Try to delay ANY quest that sends you outside your newbie zone untill you have no other missions.

At 16th, you should buy, make, find a nice set of equipment, and start doing elite missions with a group.... When you cant find a group,,, find another densly packed group of missions and repeat..

The reason I sell all my equipment at the beginning is that it makes little to no difference... The skinning knife uses your skinning skill as if it were a weapon skill for combat, so it does about what a decent weapon does at the lower levels..., If you can get ahold of a nice fishing pole its even better... Selling all your armor also frees up those slots for armor you find whild questing.. which frees up space in your backpack. Which means you bring back more stuff to the vendor & sell more stuff... and thus have more $ to buy nice stuff later..

Yea do quests to get decent xp, and just level in different spots. If it starts to get boring ...put on some of your favorite music to get your mind off it, thats what i do.

Farming - The act of killing monsters purely for money or items that you turn around and sell for money. You can also 'farm' resources, like leather or cloth which just means to kill mobs that drop these items repeatedly.

Mob - Short for 'mobile entity'. In MMO terms, we use the term 'mob' as a noun, not a verb. Anything that moves is a mob (other than players), including monsters or NPCs.

Thanks for clarifying many times -ur not a noob-, I think that's pretty transparent.

Heh, I found that you can make extreme cash on higher level crafting. Well, once I'm lv 35, 32 right now, it'll be a mad potion making rush for me. As for XP, I usually just farm in places that have the herbs I need. Works out fairly well for me. :)

ya when i lvl (lvl. 41 pally at the moment) i just go do some quests. while i am out questing i just normally kill all the beasts on the way to the quest site or at the quest site. over time this adds up and that's how i got to where i am now.

Thanks for clearing that up for him. I know a LOT of people playing MMORPGs that don't know various terminology. It's no big deal. That was very nice of you to do that.

Should have left that part out.
