Banned for this?

Haha this is pretty funny. So I played WoW, got to lvl 60, got my whole set and the game got really boring so the last 3-4 weeks I wasnt playing much, was just trying to find ways to make big $$.

The easiest way I found out to make money in WoW is by the AH. You put an item with low bid and with very high buyout, something like a stack of rugged leather with 99s bid, 99g buyout. I didnt know if it'd work but it did and it was the easiest money ever.

But a week ago I got banned for this. Can you get banned for something like this? I know GMs can track you with doing something like this easily, so anybody else since you can see it on the AH, but is this so serious? I kinda laughed when I saw I got banned because I wasnt even playing WoW anymore, I had returned in FFXI.

So I got their e-mail stating that I had been banned for "Scam" and they gave me this link to read he scam policy Register to unlock hidden link .Nowhere on that sie says that u can possibly get banned by scamming. Don't you think WoW staff sucks so much that they don't even know what they are talking about too? :D

Welcome to World of Bancraft, we ban first and ask questions later. We would never think of warning a user when there's a chance he might do something out of habit rather than malice.

In the interested of our 1.4 million colorblind below 70 IQ customers we've decided to ban you for placing items on the Auction House in a deceptive manner.

If you feel this ruling is unjust we recommend you buy a new copy of World of Bancraft and play on a PvP server as horde since the IQ needed to play these non zerg races is far above the alliance average.

In closing Blizzard would like to thank you for playing World of Bancraft.
Remember that if you get banned multiple times and buy new copies of World of Bancraft we get more resources to work on the december 2007 content patch.

Yeah I'll be super paranoid once I start using XU.

Actually I'm still debating about getting it because I feel Blizz is being very strict and witty - I would expect them to change something in a patch so they can detect certain third party programs and then, a month or so later when we all think it's safe. Bam.

And I'm really not in the mood to level to 60 again.

Yes, you get banned for doing that as Blizzard considers it a s despicable scam. It's also possible you either forgot to update your email address or simply missed/ignored their email warning as they do send them out.

On the other hand you could have posted personal information about other posters on the Blizzard WoW forums and gotten two warnings before being banned from WoW.

Enjoy your new game and find a different way to keep yourself amused in it.

Edit: spelling

1. No, they have my correct e-mail address because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the account closure notice.

2. No, I don't post in WoW official forums because only noobs and annoying people post there.

3. FFXI isn't my new game, been playing it since it came out.

Been there done that, I didnt get banned from wow but very nealy did for something very similar. I had an item I looked on the AH saw other people with high buyouts so put it up the same, someone else in my house bid on it (didnt even know he wanted it or would have just given him the item). about 10 mins later a GM was threatening to ban me. I just said look its not malicous and that they need to allow for such things to happen. He then said I would be monitored and if I did anything like that again I would be banned. I told him not to bother as his heavy handedness has just lost his company 3 customers. So me and my house mates have all gone back to FFXI now :D
